MPR Projects - Case Studies

Cedar Gate, Cloughs Road, Ringwood

This charming development lies to the rear of a small, quiet road in the New Forest market town of Ringwood and comprises 12 contemporary style homes.

MPR Projects were awarded the project management of the whole development from Zelda Investments Ltd and Mark Ruckwood, MPR’s Managing Director was able to help secure Planning Permission for the site after a refusal led to an appeal which successfully progressed through the Planning and Building Regulation process.

Williams Lester of London and Ringwood were appointed as Architects and Such Salinger Peters of Chepstow, Highcliffe and Dorchester, were the Engineers. From the start of the work on site, the development process took 35 weeks to complete.

Development began in December 2009 with the excavation of foundations through to the completion of high quality finishes. To give an insight to the process, after the excavation of foundations by ground workers the building of the superstructure begins by bricklayers, timber frame erectors and roof tiling contractors. This is followed by the first fix mechanical and electrical engineering team, after which comes the plastering and floor screeding. The second fix carpentry then starts, followed by the kitchen fitting. The home is then beginning to take on its character and after the decorations and ceramic tiling, its peaceful beauty becomes apparent.

To complete the finished development, MPR Projects ensure that the landscaping, gardens, courtyards and entrances are left in an immaculate condition, having used only the highest quality materials, shrubs and plants.

This development went on to win the Premier Guarantee Building Excellence Award for Medium Development of the Year in 2010.

MPR Projects ensure that throughout the whole process, their sites are run very tidily and cleanly, with as little disturbance to the surrounding areas as possible thereby fully adhering to the Considerate Contractor’s Scheme.

Cedar Gate development was completed in July 2010 at a value of £3.6m for a developer client
